1. Who is responsible for your data

steady-leash.com ("steadyleash", "we", "us") is operated by Envoise, Burgemeester Brokxlaan 6A, 5041 SB Tilburg, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce (KVK) no. 93917023. Envoise is the controller of your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the "business" responsible for your personal information under applicable US state privacy laws. 2. Personal data we collect

  • Order and contact data: name, email address, phone number (if provided), shipping and billing address, order details and communications with us.
  • Payment data: payments are processed by Shopify Payments, PayPal or other payment providers. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details (such as card type and last 4 digits); we do not store full card numbers.
  • Account data: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring website and interactions, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Marketing data: your email or SMS subscription status and how you interact with our messages.
  • Content you send us: reviews, photos, videos and messages.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data.

3. Why we use your data and our legal bases

  • To process, ship and support your order, handle returns and warranty claims (performance of a contract).
  • To communicate with you about your order and answer your questions (performance of a contract; legitimate interests).
  • To prevent fraud and keep our website secure (legitimate interests; legal obligations).
  • To comply with tax, accounting and customs obligations, including DDP import and sales tax requirements (legal obligation).
  • To send marketing emails or SMS, only if you have opted in or where permitted by law; you can unsubscribe at any time (consent; legitimate interests).
  • To measure and improve our website and advertising, using analytics and advertising cookies where you have not opted out or, where required, have consented (consent; legitimate interests).

4. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data for money. We share it only as needed with:

  • Shopify, which hosts our store and processes orders;
  • payment providers to process payments and prevent fraud;
  • our production and fulfillment partners and shipping carriers, including customs brokers, who need your name, address and order details to ship and clear your order for delivery to the US;
  • email, SMS, customer service and review apps we use to communicate with you;
  • analytics and advertising partners (such as Google and Meta) when you allow advertising cookies, to measure and personalize ads. Under some US state laws this may be considered "selling" or "sharing" personal information for targeted advertising; you can opt out at any time (see section 8);
  • professional advisers and authorities where required by law or to protect our rights.

5. International transfers

We are based in the Netherlands and our service providers are located in the EU, the United States and other countries, including the country from which our products are shipped. When personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or on the transfer being necessary to perform our contract with you (for example, to ship your order).

6. How long we keep your data

We keep order and invoice data for 7 years to meet Dutch tax and accounting requirements. Customer service messages are kept for up to 2 years after our last contact. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept for up to 26 months. After these periods we delete or anonymize your data.

7. Your rights (all customers)

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your personal data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy in a portable format, restrict or object to certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email support@steady-leash.com. We will verify your request and respond within 30 days (or within the period required by your local law). We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or your local privacy regulator.

8. Additional rights for US residents

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states with consumer privacy laws have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, to access, correct and delete it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising and of profiling. To opt out, visit our Your Privacy Choices page or enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, which we honor. You can appoint an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response; if your appeal is denied, you may contact your state Attorney General. In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in section 2 for the purposes in section 3 and disclosed them to the categories of recipients in section 4. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

9. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for our website and checkout to work, and, depending on your choices, analytics and advertising cookies. You can manage your preferences through our cookie banner (where shown), your browser settings or our Your Privacy Choices page.

10. Children

Our website is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and payment processing by PCI-DSS compliant providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version is always available on this page with the date it was last updated.
